🐊 A Wild Day in the Everglades: Our Return Trip to Captain Jack’s Airboat Tours
One of the best parts about staying near Siesta Key is that every day can be a new adventure. And sometimes… that adventure takes you right into the heart of Florida’s wild side! 🌿✨
We recently took another road trip from Sarasota down to Captain Jack’s Airboat Tours in the Florida Everglades — and this time we brought along Trish’s brother Tom and his wife Fran. They were just as excited as we were to explore the mangroves and spot some wildlife!
🌬️ The Thrill of the Airboat Ride
As soon as the airboat engine revved up and we started gliding across the water, that feeling of excitement came rushing back.
There’s something so incredibly freeing about flying through the Everglades — wind in your hair, water rushing beneath you, and breathtaking scenery stretching out in every direction. The mangrove tunnels are especially unforgettable, twisting and turning like a hidden pathway through Florida’s untouched beauty.
Tom and Fran were all smiles the entire time — pointing out the birds soaring overhead and keeping their eyes peeled for alligators sunning themselves along the banks.
🐊 Gator Encounters (From a Safe Distance!)
One of the very first things Tom asked when he arrived in Florida was:
“Where are the alligators?”
Well… this trip did not disappoint!
We spotted plenty — lounging along the shoreline and popping their heads up from the water as we passed by. It was the perfect dose of excitement!
🌿 A Perfect Day Trip Experience
What we love most about Captain Jack’s is that it’s the perfect change of scenery from beach life — and yet just a couple of hours away. One moment you’re relaxing on Siesta Key’s white quartz sand, and the next you’re deep in Florida wilderness experiencing a totally different slice of the state.
